St. Regis Saadiyat Island 5*, Abu Dhabi (UAE)

The kind of quiet luxury that's hard to find

There are hotels you stay at and hotels that stay with you. St. Regis Saadiyat Island falls very firmly into the second category — and I say this as someone who has stayed in a lot of five-star properties around the world. This one had been on my bucket list for a while. From the moment I arrived, I could feel that this hotel operates at a different frequency. It's not about grand statements or trying to impress you — it's about quiet luxury. The kind that reveals itself gradually, in the small and big details alike: the precision of the check-in process, the quality of the linens, the way staff seem to anticipate what you need before you even think to ask. The clientele here reflects that same energy — it's a selective crowd, and there's a calm, understated elegance to the atmosphere that I found incredibly refreshing.

Obsessed with the seaview room

I was absolutely obsessed with my seaview room. I'm not exaggerating when I say I kept finding excuses to go back to the room just to look at the view. Waking up to the Gulf stretching out in front of you — with nothing but blue water and sky — genuinely never got old.

One of the best beaches in the UAE

The beach is pristine. And I mean that seriously — it's one of the best hotel beaches I've encountered anywhere in the UAE. Soft sand, crystal-clear water, impeccably maintained. It's the kind of beach where you genuinely lose track of time. But if you’re more like a pool person, the pool is huge and looks amazing,

Dining that feels like a fine dining experience

What really surprised me was the dining. I had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both times it felt less like a buffet and more like a fine dining experience that just happened to be in a serve-yourself format. The selection was curated rather than overwhelming — everything on offer was there for a reason — and the quality of the ingredients was exceptional. Dinner in particular stood out: white chocolate shavings, a beautifully presented selection of aged cheeses, fresh salmon, a seafood paella that was worth the trip alone. It's the kind of food that makes you want to skip going out and just stay in.
St. Regis Saadiyat Island is, without question, one of the finest hotels I've ever stayed at. If you're considering it, stop deliberating — just book it.

Greetings from paradise!

xoxo,

Synthia Jacob
